Is is hot in here or is it me?

Postby Charlie » 04 Feb 2010, 22:53

This used to be a frequent catch phrase whilst I was getting to grips with my symptoms. A doctor once told me that POF sufferers have symptoms that are 10 fold to those who experience menopause at an average age. I can definitely vouch for this theory and had many embarrassing episodes of sweat patches through to bits of tissue stuck in my hair whilst frantically dabbing my forehead during meetings  . It took a long while before the fierce hot flushes were under control plus I stopped drinking as much coffee which has helped a lot.

Does anyone have any other tips to prevent or quickly suppress these?

I have had many difficulties with HRT even tho they took my hot flushes away.
My reflexologist, who specialises in fertility problems, recommended a flower remedy called 'She Oak'. This is gentle and natural. It has helped to keep my hot flushes down and generally helps to keep the body and skin hydrated (it made a huge difference to my skin). Anyways, it is very cheap (about £6 a bottle - per month/6 weeks basically) - 4 weeks on, two weeks off. When I have been off it more than 4 weeks, my hot flushes return. SO now I am defo a fan!!
No more....
It might not be for everyone and might not work for everyone. It works for me for now while I figure out if i have to take hrt and which one.
Hope it helps or you find a good solution for you!
